Guide to importing contacts into WiredContact

Parts of this document may refer to importing from the Admin area which not all users will have access to. Importing can also be achieved from the users "My Record" and then going to the Mauve padlock where importing from Database is visible subject to permissions having been granted - more details on importing are in the PDF document below.

In all cases your Excel spreadsheet must not contain formatting, the means Bold, colours, totals, pivot tables etc. Within Most versions of XLS there is an option to remove all formatting. Earlier versions of WiredContact would only import xls, later versions can import xlsx.  The enhanced features are available to everyone upon paying the annual maintenance fee as set out on our website http://wiredcontact.co.uk/pricing_tables.html

Importing is also very simple to achieve using a csv file which would not need to imported the library

WHEN IMPORTING CHROME MAY WANT TO ADD IN A USERNAME AND PASSWORD - YOU DO NOT NEED THIS

Importing into WiredContact Enterprise from XLS spreadsheets

If you are part of a structure such as a Branch network or Franchise where you are using "Teams" to ensure users can only see specific records then you should also be aware of the need to import the correct entry into the Managing Team field see http://support.wiredcontact.co.uk/KB/a476/teams-in-wiredcontact-enterprise.aspx?KBSearchID=0

If you see an ADO Exception error when moving from one screen to the next and you are using Google Chrome this is because Chrome is also completing your user name and password because it is trying to be helpful. Please remove the username and password and then select next and you will not get this error
