Displaying Long Date Formats

Instead of showing the numeric value for a date, you may want to show a more descriptive value. Any contact field that has a format=date can have a mask= attribute added to change the display. For instance, instead of displaying 8/2/2005, you may want to display Friday, August 2, 2005. The following mask= attributes can be added to display the matching long date format.

mask=dddd, MMMM dd, yyyy Friday, August 02, 2005
mask=dddd, MMMM d, yyyy Friday, August 2, 2005 (no leading "0")
mask=MMMM dd, yyyy August 02, 2005
mask=MMMM d, yyyy August 2, 2005 (no leading "0")
mask=dddd, dd MMMM, yyyy Friday, 02 August, 2005
mask=dddd, d MMMM, yyyy Friday, 2 August, 2005 (no leading "0")
mask=dd MMMM, yyyy 02 August, 2005
mask=d MMMM, yyyy 2 August, 2005 (no leading "0")
mask=ddd, MMMM dd, yyyy Fri, August 02, 2005
mask=ddd, MMMM d, yy Fri, August 12, 05

Other combinations may be achieved by researching common long date formats.

The date mask is especially useful when displaying dates on letter and email templates using the <#DATE and <#FIELD tags. An example-

<#FIELD field=1001 format=date mask="dddd, MMMM dd, yyyy">
